Sometimes it can be difficult to start dating when you feel like you’re tired of looking and dressing the same way all the time. When this happens, one of the easiest ways to get yourself out of a slump is to change up your wardrobe. Obviously, buying brand new clothes can quickly become expensive. Fortunately, there are ways to create a new to your wardrobe for a fraction of the cost that you would spend in department stores.
Hit the Thrifts
A lot of people like to turn their noses up at the idea of shopping at the thrift shop, but these people clearly have no idea how many awesome things you can buy at a thrift store. If you’re still trying to figure out your wardrobe and whether or not you want to stick to one specific style or if you want to do a bit of experimenting, shopping at a thrift store could be a perfect idea for you. Believe it or not, thrift stores have everything from suits to gym shorts. If don’t know where to begin, you can start by thinking about a couple of different styles such as the hipster, the rugged, or the sophisticated look. Do a quick online search of what these styles look like and head out to the thrift stores. You’ll be surprised at the items you’ll find as well as how inexpensive they are. Remember, just because an item is in a thrift store doesn’t mean that it is old and faded. Plenty of people donate their clothes, shoes, and other items to the thrift store without having ever used them.
One thing you will need to keep in mind about thrift stores is that depending on your size, they may not always have what you’re looking for. When you’re shopping at a thrift store, it’s best to visit them often so that you can see what new items they get in. Unlike a regular clothing store, when something is gone, it’s gone and there won’t be any reorders.
Check Forums, Websites, and Newspapers
Sometimes you can get a brand new wardrobe at the click of a button. Local forums, websites, and newspapers contain ads for free clothing and accessories all the time. For instance, you can easily look on Craigslist or localized forums for free items. Some of these websites allow you to limit your search by inputting keywords. If this ends up being the case for you, simply do a quick search for men’s clothing in the “free” section and see what type of results you get. You may have to travel to a nearby city to pick up the clothing. If that happens, remember to stay safe or to bring someone with you. It’s also a good idea to always wash any used clothing you get from someone, whether it be a person or a thrift store.
Creating a new wardrobe isn’t difficult and most of the time, it can even be fun. All it takes is a bit of a creativity and a willingness to want to save yourself a lot of money while taking up just a little bit of your time.
